Tina Louise is a popular American artist, writer and actress well known for her performance as Ginger Grant in the 1960s the television show Gilligan's Island. In the 1950s she started her career as an actress on stage with Bettle Davis' musical Two's Company. Thereafter she acted in numerous Broadway shows before going big on the national theatre scene with Li'l Abner's in 1957. Also, she released her debut music album called It's time for Tina during the same year. Louise's first venture into Hollywood was as Griselda in God's Little Acre, a 1958 drama. The film garnered wide reviews. Louise won the Golden Globe Award for her performance in the New Star of the year category. In this time, she studied at the Actors Studio of New York. Lee Strasberg was her tutor. The actress joined CBS for the role of Ginger Grant. Louise did not stop juggling her acting career across Broadway as well as Hollywood, portraying more somber characters as opposed to her perception of being the glamorous girl.
